"But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." -Matthew 23:12 NLT What an awesome teaching the Holy Spirit has allowed Pastor Gregory to teach on this month. It is titled "Dress yourself in Humility" Humility is the opposite of aggressiveness, arrogance and boastfulness. Rather than "Me first", humility allows us to say "No, you first, my friend". Humility is the quality that lets us go MORE THAN HALFWAY to meet the needs and demands of others. Now, when we get dressed, it is our responsibility to first put on our underclothes and then whatever we are going to wear that day right? No one is going to do it for us; we must do it ourselves. It is a decision that we make for ourselves. If we put our outer clothes on without first putting on our underclothes we wouldn't feel right. Matthew 23:12 tells us that it is your responsibility to humble yourself, no one can do it for you - not even God. It comes from your will- not your emotions. When you and I truly humble ourselves it will be expressed in our actions When you walk in humility, it will help others see the goodness of God in our lives. Proverbs 22:4 tells us "True humility and fear of the lord leads to riches, honor and long life" When we allow God to crown us with humbleness , we will have victory! James 4:10 tells us" Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor." What an awesome Scripture this is. You cannot let pride take control of you . Now let me ask you all a question- Are you willing to humble yourself? It is never too late to change. It is your decision and only you can make it. No one can make it for you. So what will it be?

I find that I need humbleness to come back to God. I remember going through the prayer and reading program like a monotonous chore that I felt unless I did the works my faith would not strengthen. This is true in certain ways. Praying and reading the Word should be done with an attitude as you would give in service or offerings. Are we disgruntle when we give or service? We should be a cheerful giver, and this is expected when we pray and read too. We need to do these things cheerfully.
