"But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." -Matthew 23:12 NLT What an awesome teaching the Holy Spirit has allowed Pastor Gregory to teach on this month. It is titled "Dress yourself in Humility" Humility is the opposite of aggressiveness, arrogance and boastfulness. Rather than "Me first", humility allows us to say "No, you first, my friend". Humility is the quality that lets us go MORE THAN HALFWAY to meet the needs and demands of others. Now, when we get dressed, it is our responsibility to first put on our underclothes and then whatever we are going to wear that day right? No one is going to do it for us; we must do it ourselves. It is a decision that we make for ourselves. If we put our outer clothes on without first putting on our underclothes we wouldn't feel right. Matthew 23:12 tells us that it is your responsibility to humble yourself, no one can do it for you - not even God. It comes from your will- not your emotions. When you and I truly humble ourselves it will be expressed in our actions When you walk in humility, it will help others see the goodness of God in our lives. Proverbs 22:4 tells us "True humility and fear of the lord leads to riches, honor and long life" When we allow God to crown us with humbleness , we will have victory! James 4:10 tells us" Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor." What an awesome Scripture this is. You cannot let pride take control of you . Now let me ask you all a question- Are you willing to humble yourself? It is never too late to change. It is your decision and only you can make it. No one can make it for you. So what will it be?

"If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."(Mark 9:23) Pastor Gregory just started a new series titled "First the Test- Then the Blessing". In Mark 9:23, Jesus tells us "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Notice it repeats the word "believe" twice. I believe that God is trying to get our attention. There is a condition, and that condition is believe. Jesus was telling us that through faith, the things that are impossible, are possible through God to one who believes.Whatever the Father has you can have also IF YOU BELIEVE. Going through a test is a challenge.Yes, we know what the word of God says in Mark 9:23- and you will say, "Yes I believe but ...", "But this hurts...", "But I can't take this anymore". The tests that we go through are like sandpaper- it sands away all that is not good for you. The Lord has made it possible for each one of us to have victory in every one of life's battles and tests that we encounter or go through, and that is not to lose heart and to not allow yourself to go into despair. We must have confidence in the Father. Psalms 27:13 tells us "I would have lost heart, unless I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." So when you are going through a test we should follow the example of Moses. In Hebrews 11:26 Moses said that he thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead TO HIS GREAT REWARD. Faith enables us to endure- it is not what you can see, it's what you believe. So let me ask you a question, do you believe? |
