God bless everyone. Understanding your "Heavenly Father" is the title of the teaching the Holy Spirit has given to Pastor Gregory for the month of February. I would like to share with you what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me.
I grew up without a father for the Lord called him home when I was only 4 and there is so little I remember about him. So I never knew what it was to have the love of a father.
What an awesome Scripture this is in 2 Corinthians 6:18. I read this Scripture before, but when I listened to Pastor Gregory teach it at church, it was like a light bulb blew up inside of me. All those years that "I thought" I was alone without a father, I wasn't. My father, God, was with me all the time.
God is the Father and creator of the universe. He is the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He left his imprint on everything that was alive in the earth. He created the universe through His love. Which means He is your Father as well. Yes you may have a father here on earth, maybe you never knew your father. In God, there is not only fatherhood but a relationship- an intimate relationship. And you cannot have an intimate relationship with your Father in heaven unless you know him. Your Father in heaven knows you and when you have a problem, you should go to your Heavenly Father, just like Jesus did.
Jesus wasn't able to do nothing without the Father. John 5:20 tells us "For the Father loves the Son and shows Him EVERYTHING he is doing. In fact, the father will show Him how to do even greater works than these."
God your Father loves you and longs to spend time with you. Matthew 21:27 "No one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him."
Do you have a hunger and desire to get to know your Heavenly Father? Then can you join me right now and make a commitment to draw close to Jesus? As you and I both do that, I guarantee you God, our Heavenly Father will reveal Himself more and more to us.
We have nothing to lose but so much to gain.
