What an awesome teaching the Holy Spirit has given Pastor Gregory this month! It is titled: "Still the tongue". Meaning quiet the tongue or silence the tongue. Or in other words, don't talk, but take time to listen. When you and I listen, we gain knowledge. Proverbs 17:28 tells us "Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent."
The Word of God is offering you and I to teach us how to still the tongue. It is up to you and I to open up our spiritual eyes and ears and listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say. When our tongue is out of control, that is an indication that you and I do not fear the Lord. If I asked, "Do you want to live a long prosperous life?" Your answer would be, "Yes, of course." The Word of God tells us in Psalm 34:13-14: "The only way we will be able to live a long prosperous life is to keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work,to maintain it."
Matthew 12:33-37 outlines for us something powerful. Jesus is explaining how if a tree is good, the fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, the fruit will be bad. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart. And an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. There is a DIRECT connection between the heart and the mouth. The tree is the heart and the words that come out of our heart are fruit. If our heart is not right, our words are not right. Your treasure is in your heart. We need to follow God's command so we can get to that place. If our heart is good, the word will be good. If our heart is evil, then the word we speak will be evil.
Today is a new day. Let us examine ourselves and if we haven't been speaking correctly, let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us. Listen to the videos and you will hear the Holy Spirit speak directly to you. I guarantee you that once you apply the Word of God to your life, you will see a change, a divine change, a divine transformation, from God. And we will be on the right road to become just like Jesus!
