Pastor Gregory just started a new series titled "Glorifying God in your Body." Your body was made to glorify God. To glorify means "to honor." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Your body is the Lord's temple. He owns your temple. He dwells inside of you. God dwells in a temple made not by hands but by divine workmanship.
So you may ask, "How can I glorify God in my body?" Proverbs 13:25 reads, "The righteous eats to the satisfying of the soul, but the stomach of the wicked shall be in want." You and I should be eating until we are satisfied, not full, because our body is the temple of God. Any other form is misuse. Romans 12:1 reads, "I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. We can glorify God in our body by dedication- we should dedicate our body to God. Inspiration- we must motivate ourselves for change and eating and exercising. We should eat to live and not live to eat.
1 Corinthians 10:31 reads, "Therefore, whether you eat or drink , or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God . You and I will have to give an account of what we have said and done to our body. Remember this, your body and spirit both belong to God. They have both been redeemed. You are God's property. You have a divine purpose. So let us honor Him. Let us glorify Him in our body. Let us according to Psalm 139:14, "Give Him praise, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Hallelujah!
