Pastor Gregory just started a new series titled "First the Test- Then the Blessing".
In Mark 9:23, Jesus tells us "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Notice it repeats the word "believe" twice. I believe that God is trying to get our attention. There is a condition, and that condition is believe.
Jesus was telling us that through faith, the things that are impossible, are possible through God to one who believes.Whatever the Father has you can have also IF YOU BELIEVE.
Going through a test is a challenge.Yes, we know what the word of God says in Mark 9:23- and you will say, "Yes I believe but ...", "But this hurts...", "But I can't take this anymore". The tests that we go through are like sandpaper- it sands away all that is not good for you.
The Lord has made it possible for each one of us to have victory in every one of life's battles and tests that we encounter or go through, and that is not to lose heart and to not allow yourself to go into despair. We must have confidence in the Father. Psalms 27:13 tells us "I would have lost heart, unless I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
So when you are going through a test we should follow the example of Moses. In Hebrews 11:26 Moses said that he thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead TO HIS GREAT REWARD.
Faith enables us to endure- it is not what you can see, it's what you believe.
So let me ask you a question, do you believe?
